This hardy plant is a perennial with tall, broad, strap-like mid-green leaves. The long arching stems will grow up to 1m (3ft) tall and have cylindrical, pendulous catkin like spikes up to 150mm (6) long. It will form into a large clump of evergreen foliage.It is best by the poolside in moist areas like bogs but will be ok in water depths up to 6 (150mm).If you are putting it under water, we would suggest you pot it into a reasonably large aquatic plant pot straight away.
