Luscombe Water GardensLucky Dip Water LilyThis is for one Rhizome of a water lily. This lily is in it s rooted form to save on postal costs. It will require potting on receipt. It will come with either some leaves on or new shoots depending on the time of year.We call this lily Lucky Dip , We have a lot of lily rhizomes which we are not sure of the colour of the flower. They are either white, pink, yellow or possible red. Whichever colour they are, they will be beautiful lilies and if you are not too fussed about which colour, this is the lily for you, saving you money from specific coloured lilies!It will grow in waters from 12 (300mm) to 3ft (900mm) and in it s first year you can expect a few flowers. By the second year there should be at least 6 flowers with more the following year.When you first pot it, keep it in the shallows of your pond until the leaves reach the surface, then place it in the position you wish it down to 3ft depth. Alternatively, you can put in a deeper area if you can sit the lily basket on some breeze blocks or similar to bring it nearer the surface. Then when the leaves grow you can take the blocks away and drop it to the bottom.We would suggest you pot it into at least a large aquatic plant basket/pot straight away or you will need to re-pot at the end of this season.You can buy the water lily baskets from our Amazon shop, we suggest at least our large size but preferably in the XL size.
